Sports Medicine @ Fig Tree

Boulder kids play hard. They deserve care that keeps up.

sports medicine for Boulder teens

A five-minute sports physical isn't enough. Not for a kid racing down ski runs, heading soccer balls, climbing 5.11 routes, or logging cross-country miles at altitude.

The Fig Tree Integrative Sports Program is built for the realities of growing athletes in Boulder. One deep, integrative annual sports optimization visit replaces the rushed school form. One follow-up uses the data we gather to personalize a plan: nutrition, recovery, supplements, training-load wisdom.

It's not a replacement for a primary care pediatrician. It's a specialized layer of care designed around your athlete's sport, their growing body, and the unique demands of their season.

No re-occuring monthly membership plan required. Already a Fig Tree member? You can access everything here included with your membership.

We had such a wonderful experience with Fig Tree. The doctor immediately connected with my child as an athlete and understood the bigger picture of training and confidence in the context of everything else going on in a high schooler’s day to day. We are used to someone just checking the boxes on a form - never again. We will 100% see Fig Tree every year.

What’s Included

Initial Visit (60 minutes) A thorough, unhurried evaluation. We get to know your athlete — their sport, training load, goals, growth stage, and any concerns — and build a personalized plan from there.

Follow-Up Visit (30 minutes) We review labs, ImPACT scores, and screening results together, then make clear recommendations you can actually act on.

ImPACT Concussion Testing The gold-standard baseline assessment trusted by pediatricians and pro teams alike. Includes one free follow-up test if your athlete sustains a head injury during the year.

Comprehensive Labs A full picture of your athlete's health, including ferritin, iron, TSH, CBC, CMP, lipids, vitamin D, B12, and folate — so we can spot deficiencies, recovery issues, and red flags before they become problems.

Cardiac Screening A careful cardiac evaluation, with EKG ordered as needed for peace of mind.

Relative Energy Deficiency (RED-S) Screening We assess whether your athlete is fueling adequately for their training load — a critical and often-missed factor in growth, hormones, bone health, and performance.

Mental Health Screening Young athletes face real pressure. We screen thoughtfully and connect families to support when it's needed.

Asthma & Allergy Care We'll refill inhalers and allergy medications, complete allergy and asthma action plans, and authorize self-carry for inhalers and EpiPens where indicated.

Personalized Supplement Recommendations Based on lab results and your athlete's individual needs — no guessing, no one-size-fits-all.

Vaccinations All school and sport-required vaccines, seasonal vaccines and routine childhood vaccines billed to insurance through VaxCare.

Form Completion Sports clearance forms, camp forms, school paperwork — handled.

Referrals as Needed If your athlete needs a specialist, we'll connect you with trusted providers in our network.

No recurring membership required, but if you decide to enroll, your payment will apply to your first months of membership.
